Finn is Two Months Old Today

I've uploaded some videos I took of Finn last week. Here is one where he gives me a spontaneous smile (skip to :39 for instant gratification). He otherwise wiggles around.

I also uploaded this one, which is quite a bit longer but contains such show stoppers as Finn spitting up and sneezing. There is also a lot of wiggling and I walk aimlessly around the nursery, too.

Finn is One Month Old

Finn turned one month old yesterday. He has grown so much and has begun to stay alert for longer periods of time. He has just started to show us his tongue and to coo. He is so sweet and has so many expressions. We are looking forward to see what comes next.

Two Days Until Finn's Expected Due Date

As most of you know I gave birth to Finn 3 weeks early. His expected due date is in 2 days, and it really feels as if I've only just had him yesterday. Here are a few photos I took of him today - you can really see how much he has changed since his first day home. Right now his days are filled with sleeping, eating, stretching, diaper changes and making fish faces. There are a few sleep grins mixed in there too. Oh, and hiccups. Justin and I are so blessed to have this little guy in our lives. Everyone was right - having a child really does change everything - in a good way; no wait - in the best possible way.

35 Weeks Pregnant

35weeks4quirkyliving

Here I am at 35 weeks pregnant - I think the photo on the left finally gives an accurate showing of how much the belly is out there. As you can see the nursery is still in disarray.

I've been going through a serious nesting phase recently. I decided to bake banana bread last night at oh, around midnight. Justin being the great husband that he is, took me to the store for ingredients for banana bread, zucchini bread and oatmeal cookies. I finished the banana bread last night and then this morning baked two loaves of zucchini bread and oatmeal cookies. I've also been on a cleaning frenzy. Slowly working my way through my "things that need to get done before the baby arrives" to-do list.

34 Weeks 5 Days Pregnant....and Counting

I took these photos today. If you look closely you can see where we are with the nursery. There is still a lot to be set up there, and I'll definitely be posting more photos when it's complete -- along with some "before" photos. Right now you can tell just by these two photos how the color of the paint changes in the room. It's pretty neat, and I think the color is pretty soothing. I can't wait until it's fully complete and I can breathe a sigh of relief!

34weeks5days

A lot of people have told me recently that they don't think I'll make it to the due date based upon how low the baby has dropped and how big I've gotten. The nurse in my OB office hasn't mentioned anything relating to being ahead of schedule, but I haven't seen her since my l last quickie ultrasound, where the ultrasound tech mentioned that they baby was weighing about 2 weeks bigger than the norm. I think the baby is just big, but only time will tell. Hopefully after my next appointment I'll have more to share.

In other news my ankles are in a perpetually swollen state. I'm still working two days a week at the library, though it's getting pretty tough to walk, not to mention bend or lift. We still have quite a lot to do on the house, and I have an inkling that I'm currently in a nesting state and will be driving Justin crazy in these last few weeks with irrational demands on getting everything done now, now, NOW! Ah, hormones, gotta love 'em ;P

Pregnancy Progress & an Update

So sorry for the lack of recent updates! These past few months have been really busy and stressful. So here's a condensed version of what has been going on:

1. We got the house!
2. We're moved! This past Sunday (9/6/09) was our first night in the house.
3. Stripping of wallpaper and painting in some of the rooms has been done.
4. The pregnancy is coming along just fine.

Here's a few photos I took while I've been absent here to document the growth. Although they aren't the best pictures I'm glad I have at least a few to track the progress:

I'll make another update with more recent ones.

Ordered a Diaper Bag

newdiaperbag

I was super excited to see these Dwell Studio diaper totes go on sale at a baby deal a day site I frequent for nearly 70% off. I had thought to purchase a diaper bag at Babies R Us, but with the extra savings I was able to purchase this one from Dwell Studio in the price range I had put down for the other two diaper bag options I was thinking of.

I was also found a gently used Moby wrap on craigslist last week and was able to pick that up for a fraction of the price. It's a chocolate brown color which will work fine. Now I just need to practice tying it.
